Here at Parlkarra District High School we are lucky to have strong partnerships with the community and local businesses. Parlkarra Mine is the leading employer in the community and provides much support for the school to ensure that our students receive the best education possible. The latest sucess story from our partnership with Parlkarra Mine is the upgraded computer lab in our senior school building and the two new computers in each of our classrooms - bringing the total amount of computers per classroom up to four. The reaction to this has been extremely positive and we look forward to working closely with Parlkarra Mine in the future.
The P&C and local IGA work together to organise and run the school canteen.
The local community health centre works with the school to provide resources for our Health and Home Economics courses, with many health centre emloyees lending their time and expertise to lead our Nutritian units within those courses.
Many members of the local emergency services team also lend their time to school fundraising events, activity days and to run the Cadets program.
Local Indigenous community members also work closely with the school to ensure that all staff and students are understanding of the local heritage and Indigenous presence in the town and surrounding communities.
