The Johnson Family:
The Johnson Family have been residents of Blackwood Brook for the last four generations, living on a dairy farm located just outside the town. Since the economic downturn, they have begun to harvest oranges as well. Michael Johnson, 46, runs the farm, while Rebecca Johnson, 43, works as a nurse at the medical centre. They have four children, Josh, aged 19, Kelly, aged 16, Peter, 14, and Caitlin who is 8 years old. The youngest two, Peter and Caitlin are currently enrolled at the primary campus of Blackwood District High School, while the second oldest is boarding at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar in Bunbury to complete year eleven and twelve. Josh graduated from Bunbury Grammar and is currently studying teaching at the University of WA, with hopes of moving back to his hometown. General Income: farming changes so may change – $85,000 (for the farm), Nurse $65,000 annually

The Home family moved to Blackwood Brook in 2001, after Gregory Home got the Head of Science at Blackwood DHS. Soon after moving here, his wife Cameron, 35, set up an art gallery on the main street. She also comes in and helps teach art at the school. The Homes have two children, Sophie, aged 6 and Grace, aged 9. Both students attend the local primary campus of the DHS. General Income: $130,000 annually
The Whiteaker Family:
The Whiteakers moved to Blackwood Brook in 2008, after being frequent visitors of the town. They loved it so much that they relocated here when they retired! As well as being involved members of the community’s sporting teams, playing bowls and golf, Kaye Whiteaker, 72, volunteers at the school in the canteen. Sam Whiteaker, 73, is on many of the committees in town. General Income: 13,500 annually on pension.
The Webber Family:
The Webber Family consists of Chuck, aged 56 and his son Henry, who is 15 years old. Chuck has worked at the Talison Minerals Mine in Greenbushes since 1995. Henry is currently in year ten at Blackwood DHS and plans to continue his secondary schooling at Manjimup Senior High School next year. General Income: $110, 000 plus annually.
