Red District High School Modern schooling is available in Red Town from pre-school right through to High School. Red Town District High School is attached to the Goldfields Education District. The school currently caters for students from many different ethnic backgrounds and has a 50% Aboriginal school population.

The school also has a yabby farm, horticulture centre and library.
All students at Red Town receive specialist educational instruction in Science, Physical Education, Arts and Information Technology. Specialist teaching is conducted across the school. Students have the opportunity to undertake Indonesian via Centra or Indigenous languages via the schools cultural awareness centre which is managed and run by the schools’ Aborginal and Islander Education Officers.
Red School is said to have great playing (tennis, netball and volleyball) areas and access to shire facilities which includes a hall, oval and pool. The school now has a multi-media centre within the library. There are spaces and resources for home economics, art and science. A horticulture centre is also associated with home economics classes to provide healthy meals.
