There is a total of 36 teaching staff at Parlkarra District High School, with another 14 non-teaching staff. Because of the rural location of Parlkarra District High School, the staff are required to pull together and work as a team. Principal John Green states "I've met some great staff since I've been here, everyone gets along really well and its good how everyone comes together and helps one another out" (Youtube - Teaching in Paraburdoo, 2011). The staff at Parlkarra District High School range from the very experienced to graduate level teachers and Registrar Judy Bowen states that the whole staff have "bonded together to make a close-knit small team" (Youtube - Teaching in Paraburdoo, 2011). Alison Burns, our year 4 teacher, is a second year teacher who echoes the same sentiment, saying that even though she doesnt have a huge amount of experience yet "there's a whole group of teachers I can go to and ask questions" (Youtube - Teaching in Paraburdoo, 2011).

Here at Parlkarra District High School we work closely with the local community and students' families to create the best possible learning environment and support for the student. Amy Smith, one of our year 8 teachers states, "I've gotten to know my class...and their families really well, so I've got a close relationship with the parents which makes it easier to get some support from home" (Youtube - Teaching in Paraburdoo, 2011).
