Timbertop School Yaheuilok, Western Australia "an Innovation in Education"
Greetings from the Principal- updated July 2011
Hello and welcome to the second half of the year! Time has certainly come around quick and with so many exciting things happening at the school it is now time to sit down and write it up in a very small newsletter when you think about it!
Again, we have had some amazing work experiences available this semester from the local community as well as some International businesses that have had some great successes for our students. Everything from cooking to rock climbing to art production have been experienced by our secondary students which has resulted in some fantastic learning experiences , and the school cannot thank enough the people involved in setting up and finishing these workplace experiences. Hands on experiences in real life situations is something very close to the ethos of TimberTop School and it is amazing to see the change in the students after having the opportunity to spend time in a business they are interested in following when they leave High School.
The students involved are very pleased with the time they shared in their respective workplaces and are eager to build on their skills for the future. Not only did the students get praised on their focus, self drive and respectful behaviour, it reflects greatly on the school and other potential students and as the principal I wish to acknowledge this ongoing school representation and how proud I am of our school as well as each student and staff member involved in it.
We look forward to the students presenting a de brief of their times with teachers, classes and friends so that the learning experience can benefit and inspire others.
