"An Innovation in Education"
Welcome to Timbertop School, a unique and rewarding educational experience for your children. Nestled in the beautiful South West of Western Australia, Timbertop is surrounded by coast to one boundary and forestry to the next. It is not surprising therefore that our students are encouraged to investigate these themes as an engagement basis for learning. Founded in 2009, Timbertop School is an innovative and hugely successful pilot Expeditionary Learning school initative. It has been funded with the State Government of Western Australia along with private bodies to create a fantastic teaching environment for students ages K-12. In collaboration with other schools, businesses, industry and communities, students can benefit from a local perspective for hands-on experiences in a variety of subject areas. This cross curriculum insight as well as sharing life experiences helps students gain a global perspective for other similar locations around the world with shared values, issues or programs. Treetops School is also extremely unique to have a real focus on the future of rural communities in the wake of a global market for jobs. Our philosophy involves around growth of self-reliance and independence within our students to problem-solve and share ideas with others to reach their potential.
